Gather Everything Your Pet Will Need for Travel

I received a dog in one of these crates and have tried to locate one in the US and until today hadn't found one. Unfortunately I found it too late as I needed it a while back. The features of this crate make it my favorite, if a dog has an accident taking it apart is so easy and then it just washes up. It makes it so much easier than dealing with the screws. I am having a new dog shipped and asked the breeder in Germany to send him with one of these crates. The nice thing is now they come with wheels to make it mobile. For ease of use and durability I highly recommend this crate.

·    Many airlines limit the number of pets that travel on any given flight and you may only have one pet travelling in the passenger cabin per booking. However, you are not limited to one pet total but have to make pet flight plans and confirm that there is room in the hold for additional pets.

·    Some airlines allow pets to travel  in the cabin with you, restrictions will apply such as the pets are not allowed out of their travel crate under any circumstance, the crate must conform to a certain airline crate size guideline, and shall be counted as carry-on luggage. A fee may also apply, even the pet is deemed as carryon luggage.

·    The airline will provide you with a set of their pet travel guidelines and policies, read them well and make sure you conform to the details to avoid problems travelling with your pets or even being disallowed to travel with your pet.

·    Confirm the crate that you are able use, the crate should likely conform to the IATA (International Air Transport Association) approved carrier to transport your pet. The IATA approved carrier requirements are based on a species needs and animal size. The IATA Live Animals Regulations describe minimum standards for carrier construction for all types of animals, ranging from insects to elephants.

·    Consider your pet travelling in the hold, it is quieter and darker and often less stressful for the pet as they not only have their stress but animals feel your stress too.
